Judge of the Court of Session and Part-time Sheriffs

The Board invites applications from suitably qualified individuals who wish to be considered for appointments to the offices of Judge of the Court of Session and Part-time Sheriff. There will be one vacancy for a Judge that will arise at the end of May due to a planned retirement. For Part-time Sheriffs the Board intends to establish a pool of suitable persons from which it can draw when requested by the Scottish Ministers to recommend individuals for appointment from July 2011.
Selection is made solely on merit. The Board encourages and welcomes applications from the widest possible range of eligible individuals regardless of gender, ethnic background, social background, marital or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religion or disability.
